 Hari Om Parents,
Happy New Year to all.  Hope you all enjoyed a nice winter break.
Here is a brief summary of the class activities from Jan 5, 2020.
We started our class with our 3 Oms followed by
      Om saha nāvavatu 
    saha nau bhunaktu
    saha vīryam karavāvahai 
   Tejasvināvadhītamastu mā vidviṣāvahai 
   Om śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ 
    hariH Om
    Shri gurubhyo namaH
    hariH Om
 and 3 chants
       • Om Sri Ganeshaya namaha, Om Sri Saraswathye namaha, Om Sri Sat Gurubyoh namaha
  We chanted  three shlokas:-  
    1.  Vakratunda Mahākāya
           vakratunda mahākāya
           sūryakoṭi samaprabha
           nirvighnam kurū me deva
           sarva karyeśu sarvadā
   2.    Saraswati Namastubhyam
               sarasvati namastubhyaṃ
             varade kāmarūpiṇi
             vidyārambhaṃ kariṣyāmi
             siddhirbhavatu me sadā 
 3..     Karāgre Vasate Lakṣmīh
           Karāgre Vasate Lakṣmīh,
           karamūle sarasvatī
           karamadhye tu govindaḥ,
           prabhāte karadarśanam

 After some yoga stretches and poses we did our bhajans:

 Great God Hanumanji, I bow to Thee(Action Song)
            Great God Hanumanji, I bow to Thee,
            Monkey faced One, I bow to Thee
            Delight of Lord Rama, I take refuge in thee
            Brave and strong son of Anjani
            Infinite Om, Oh I bow to Thee
            You fight all evil and win Victory

Ganesha Bhajan
      gaṇeśa śaraṇam, śaraṇam gaṇeśa.

      vāgīśa śaraṇam, śaraṇam vāgīśa.
      vāgīśa śaraṇam, śaraṇam vāgīśa.

 After bhajans we played our meditation game and were able to count to 16 and all our little ones did an awesome job of closing their eyes and counting in their mind. We learnt how to tell the numbers from 1 to 16 in Sanskrit :
 1. One  (ekam)                  2. Two (dve)                 3.Three (treeni)
 4. Four  (chatvaari)           5. Five (pancha)           6. Six (shat)
 7. Seven (sapta)               8. Eight (ashta)              9. Nine (nava)
 10. Ten (dasha)                11. Elelven  (ekaadasha)
12. Twelve  (dvaadasha)     13. Thirteen  (trayodasha
14. Fourteen (chaturdasha) 15. Fifteen  (panchadasha)

16. Sixteen  (shodash)
We learnt how to say colours in Sanskrit like
Red – Raktaha                                                    White - Shvetah
Yellow – Peethaha                                            Black - Krishnaha
Blue – Neelaha                                                   Green – Harithaha
Pink – Patalah
We all enjoyed the story "Eat a Mango where no one can see you" and learned that God is everywhere and in everyone.
 Our weekly  craft was greeting card with Ganesha or Saraswathi  picture on it,
the kids enjoyed doing it.
 We wrapped up our session with our closing prayers
                          Om pūrṇamadaḥ pūrṇamidam
              pūrṇāt pūrṇamudacyate
              pūrṇasya pūrṇamādāya
              pūrṇamevā vaśiṣyate
  and moved to the temple for Aarthi.

Here is a brief summary of the class activities from Nov 3rd,2019 :

 We all went for a  class photo, our little ones did a good job by  sitting patiently in front of the camera.  We were back in our class so quick, thanks to our excellent photo team. 
 We did our yoga stretches and poses (Tree, Lion, Snake  & Butterfly ) followed by our meditation game and were able to count till 13 quietly in our mind.
We counted the numbers in Sanskrit too
1. One एकम् (ekam)                  2. Two द्वे (dve)                 3.Three त्रीणि (treeni)
 4. Four चत्वारि (chatvaari)        5. Five पञ्च (pancha)        6. Six षट् (shat)
 7. Seven सप्त (sapta)                 8. Eight अष्ट (ashta)          9. Nine नव (nava)
10. Ten दश (dasha)                 11. Elelven एकादश (ekaadasha)
12. Twelve द्वादश (dvaadasha)  13. Thirteen त्रयोदश (trayodasha)
We learnt how to say colours in Sanskrit like
Red – Raktaha                                                    White - Shvetah
Yellow – Peethaha                                            Black - Krishnaha 
Blue – Neelaha                                                   Green – Harithaha
 Next we did our bhajans :

This week's story was "Krishna and Govardhana Giri"  and we enjoyed doing our "Peacock Feather" craft.
We wrapped up our session with our closing prayers

              pūrṇasya pūrṇamādāya
              pūrṇamevāvaśiṣyate
  and moved to the temple for Aarthi.

We had a short class due to Saraswathi pooja. Below is the update of the class 
for Week 3, 29-Sep-2019 :
We started our class with our  3 Oms followed by
               ·         Om saha nāvavatu 
                          saha nau bhunaktu 
                          saha vīryam karavāvahai 
                         Tejasvināvadhītamastu mā vidviṣāvahai 
                         Om śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ

 and 3 chants
       • Om Sri Ganeshaya namaha, Om Sri Saraswathye namaha, Om Sri Sat Gurubyoh namaha
 We chanted  three shlokas:-

                           We discussed about Goddess Sarasvati and while looking at her picture,  kids identified the things unique to her – White saree, 2 hands holding Veena, the other hands holding japa mala and the book. Visualizing these features we repeated the  shloka –
 2.    Saraswati Namastubhyam
·         sarasvati namastubhyaṃ
        varade kāmarūpiṇi
        vidyārambhaṃ kariṣyāmi
        siddhirbhavatu me sadā 
 3.  Karāgre Vasate Lakṣmīh

All our kids were awesome sitting for the whole Pooja.
