Hari Om Parents of 2nd graders,
Namaste!
I am Mythili Pendyala and I am one of your kid's Balavihar teachers for the year 2019-20. Madhuri Waghulde is my co- teacher. We both welcome you and your kids to another exciting Balavihar year.
In 2nd grade, the syllabus is focused on 'Sri Hanuman, the Super Superman'. It is a great transition from the 1st grade where they learnt about Ramayana, Hanuman ji's character and how he played a vital role in many occasions helping Sri Rama. This year, we will drill down more into Hanumanji's personality, his great qualities, strengths and how he won everyone's heart. We will teach the kids the 'Hanuman Dhyana Shlokas' and the famous 'Hanuman Chalisa' with meanings. Kids will also learn some Hanuman Bhajans throughout the year. As we go through these topics with kids, through story narrations , we try to instill the values and explain how to adopt all the great qualities of Hanman ji. Our goal is also for the kids to develop faith that Hanuman ji will dispel all their fears and will protect them all the time.
In the first class, after our initial opening prayers and Rama Nama japa, we did introductions, talked about summer activities and also Ganesh Chaturthi. We also explained to the kids what they will be learning this year and how it will be beneficial to them.
We also went over the Class rules several times and the importance of punctuality. We all agreed that we will follow the rules, be disciplined and have fun learning in the class :). Beginning next class, we will start getting into the syllabus.
We request you all to please drop the kids in the class on time. We use Opening Prayers and the 'Rama nama japa' as a way to calm down the busy minds of the kids and get them to slowly transition into the class topics. Our humble request again is to drop them by sharp 7 pm. This will help the class from getting distracted by the opening/closing of the doors. Thanks for your understanding!
Please let us know if you want us to include other ids on our email updates (The current list used was from the class Roster). We will soon create a WhatsApp group as well to keep in touch.
We are very excited to have your kids in the class, they all seem to be very energetic and engaging. We look forward to knowing them better and work with them for the rest of the year. Please don't hesitate to contact either of us if you have any questions or need additional information.
Regards,
Mythili and Madhuri
