Below is a summary of the activities of our first session for KG. We
had two new children in class today, Kavin and Anvitha. Welcome to the
new children and parents.
As we had a short class on account of Saraswathi Pooja,so we kept it
general, and mainly concentrated on Navarathri.

Today's Activities
1. We started with OM chanting 3 times followed by OM Sahana vavatu.
2. We recapped the last class where we learnt A and B- Amaya did a
good job of explaining Aspiration and Brotherhood. Abhinav and Anirudh
were excited to explain the significance of the balloon game.
2. Also started new Slokha on Goddess Saraswati as under :
sarasvatī namastubhyaṃ
varade kāmarūpiṇī
vidyārambhaṃ kariṣyāmi
siddhirbhavatu me sadā
Meaning :
Salutations Mother Saraswati, giver of boons, fulfiller of desires
Bless me, so that I begin my studies successfully, may there be accomplishments.
3.Kids then took a fun activity break to color a picture of Goddess Saraswati.
4. We also studied a new Bhajan " Sharade Sharade" which we had the
previlege of listening to last year when Swami Prakashananda visited
Chinmaya Vrindavan, which describes Godess Saraswati.
5.We also read a few anecdotes from Swami Chinmayananda's book called
Chinmaya Charms.
The children enjoyed the little stories that Swamiji mentions and
participated with great enthusiasm.
We then proceeded to the main hall for Saraswati Puja and Aarti.
Next Session Agenda
Proceed with our curriculum on Alphabet Safari and try to cover C & D.
Practice our Slokas and Bhajans
Class drawing / craft activities with stories
Reminder & Activities for home
Kindly encourage children to practice meditation at home
Parents do ask children to show you and challenge you to perform the
brain exercise
Parents please send the following with the children next class:
Pencils, Crayons / Color Pencils, Pocket Folder, a notebook, My
Prayers Book & Water Bottle
Practice the Bhajan & Slokas with the children
Please encorage the children to complete the coloring of Godess Durga
and Lakshmi that was provided to the children.

During Navaratri, Goddess Durga is invoked first to remove impurities
from the mind. The Goddess Lakshmi is invoked to cultivate the noble
values and qualities. Finally, Saraswati is invoked for gaining the
highest knowledge of the Self. This is the significance of the three
sets of three nights when all these three are gained subjectively, and
then there will be Vijayadasami, the day of true victory.
