Hari Om Parents,
We started our class with our opening prayer and learnt the 5h and 6th slokas of Govinda Damodara Stotram.
We had another short session today on account of house inaugurals towards the end. The kids had fun doing the napkin making activity for Trenton kitchen soup as a part of giving to the needy. They have earned 300 points for their Krishna's Cowboys team. Please look out for more exciting competitions during the upcoming months like the Slokathon, Art Contest, Gita Chanting which will all earn points for the house team.
We covered the 2nd teacher from My 24 teachers book which is Air. Though air flows everywhere, may it be a beautiful garden or garbage dumpster it does not pick up a particular smell for itself. Air on its own is pure, uncontaminated and unattached. Similarly, people also need to lead their lives unattached an untainted. We told the kids how they should not get influenced by external surroundings but be goal oriented. We told them how its OK to like something but not get attached to it.
We talked about the limbs of Vishnu, which are nothing but virtues that we need to develop in our personality. We made kids read 4 different stories each of which taught one virtue.
Being Gentle, Truthful, Faithful and Kind are the 4 virtues we covered.
