Oct 27, 2019 - Grade 4 (Sunday PM)

Hari Om Parents,

Our class started with Om Chanting and opening prayer of Sahanavavatu. The kids learnt 7th and 8th slokas of Govinda Damodara stotram. Please have them practice at home.
We also chanted Karaagre vasate and Deepa jyoti slokas from My prayers book.

Our Topic from My 24 teachers was Space. We talked about the all pervading space which is in and through everything. Similarly, Bhagawan is also everywhere, Omnipresent. There is no place where he is NOT. Just as the flames of fire, thunderstorms, or rain does not affect space in any way, all different names and forms, objects and beings that are in the world affect the lord. In a garland, a thread supports all the flowers, so also Bhagwan supports all the beings.

We continued our story of Lord Krishna. We talked about how Vasudeva stepped out of the jail with the baby in his basket and walked through the thunderstorms during the dark night. He went to the bank of Yamuna river who paved way for him to walk and the thousand hooded serpant guarded the lord as an umbrella.
Vasudeva arrived at Gokula and switched the babies, he took back the girl baby sleeping next to Yashoda and returned to Mathura. The guards near the jail gave the news of the baby being born to Kamsa who came there and tried to kill the baby. but suddenly the infant slipped from his hand and rose up into the air and took the form of a resplendent goddess and told him that his enemy is already born and will destroy him soon. Though Kamsa was feeling sorry for what he had done to Devaki and Vasudeva and asked for forgiveness his goodness was short lived because of the bad company. The counselors around actually convinced him that it was not too late to protect himself and that he should kill all the infants born in the last ten days.

Kids seem to be very enthusiastic about Likhita Japa. They have been writing 'Shri Krishna Sharnam mama' with a lot of interest. Kindly encourage them to do so at home too.

Our Bhagavad Gita sloka chanting with Swamiji's guidance has started this week and we chanted the first 2 slokas from the 1st chapter, Arjuna Vishaada Yoga. Have them practice at home.
