Hari Om All,
This week we started our class with Likhita Japa. This was followed by prayers and Slokas. We practiced the first 3 verses of Maha Lakshmi Ashtakam. One new sloka was taught in the class - the ten names of Devi. Please ask your children to practice this at home.
We continued review of first half of Mahabharata - we watched the animated movie in class that covered Drona and Karna. Additionally we used the BV handbook - part 1 to discuss Eklavya, The Lac Palace and Bakasura. With this we have covered Chapters 1-5 in the handbook. Next class we plan to review chapters 6-8 (Draupadi, Subhadra, Rajsuya sacrifice, Jarasandha, , Game of dice, Grace of Sri Krishna). Parents are encouraged to purchase the Mahabharata For Children - Junior Class Handbook (Part 1 and 2) from the bookstore. There are over 50 copies in stock and you should be able to buy them now.
We also chanted Bhagavad Gita - Chapter 1 - verses 1-2. All students should bring their Chinmaya Vrindavan Balavihar Handbook (2019 - 2020) to class. We read the Bhagavad Gita verses from there.
