Next Balavihar class: 11/22/19

Summary:

Our quote of the day was "Mind can make a hell of heaven and. heaven out of hell.

Students shared their interpretation of the quote and also examples from their experience. One of them told when she got bad grades, she could keep thinking negatively that it could affect everything else or cheer up and see how to get better.  Another kid told mind can change the perspective of the things. When she had to move from on school to another, she could think she is losing her friends or be excited about making new friends.
We covered the story of Rmayana until Ram , Sita and Lakshmana went to the forest and connected the characters to the quote.

Kaikeyi was initially so happy when she knew about Rama going to be coronated as the King of Ayodhya.  But after the influence of Matara, the same situation which seemed like  heaven turned into hell for her.
Rama on the other hand, being equanimous always, he turned even the very tough situation of having to give up everything and live an ascetic life in the forest into a heaven. He happily agreed to his father's wish and took it as an  blessing to learn more from the forest living experience and  meet great Saints .

We did not have class on 11/8 and 11/15.

Pranam,
Balvihar Sevikas
