All kids now got it all right. Opposite game is always lots of FUN.

Krishna Yoga
All kids had a lot of fun doing the normal yoga along with Krishna dance steps yoga.
  1. We stretched our hands above our head, our legs hip width apart and rotated our arms and shoulders.
  2. Then we did Krishna Yoga - We acted as we were all Krishna playing Murali/ Flute pose with hands stretched and legs crossed and all pretended to be Krishna dancing on Kaliya
4.     We also did the Cobra pose by sleeping on our tummy and raising our heads like a COBRA… hissss
5.     We then all churned butter with our moms and dads. We sat down with our legs intertwined with our parents and pulled back and then pushed back like we churned butter.

Who is Krishna?
Last whole month we were talking about Krishna. He is the god with the flute in his hand. Who wears Peacock feather on his head. His mother's name was Janaki/Yashoda and his father's name was Vasudev /Nandan. He is One of the avatars of Lord Vishnu.

We talked about how Krishna is our friend. And Krishna has LOT of names – because Krishan does lot of things. We saw Krishna doing many things in pictures. Some of the names of Krishna are Yashodha Nandan Krishna, Makkhan chor Krishna, Kaliya mardhan Krishna, Govardhan Giri Krishna, Bansi Bajaiya Krishna, Geetacharya Krishna.

For each name, we learnt so many stories about Krishna like how Krishna played with his flute all the time, how he carried the Govardhan giri to save the people of Brindavan from Indra's wrath, how Krishna saved the yamunawasi from Kaliya the snake.

Activity

  • Concentration Game - We have to concentrate and then Count the number of stones falling in the tin box.  Kids closed the eyes and counted in mind. Then we counted the beads in Sanskrit to the number kids will ask for.
  • Govardhan Giri Game – Each kid pretended they were Krishna for the day. We spread a bedsheet over all the kids heads and they all pretended that they were carrying the mountain and saving the Brindavan people from Indra's torrential rain
  • Kaliya Mardhan Game – We got in many pillow, cushions etc from home and we pretended that it was the heads of Kaliya. Then we put the Tillana Kaliya Mardhan song and danced on all the pillows like Krishna danced on Kaliya.
