Below is the update from our class grade 6 Sunday AM this week.
*After Abhimanyu vadh, Arjuna returns from defeating the Trigarta brothers.
*Arjuna notices the eerie silence in the Pandava camp and is worried about the safety of his brothers
*he founds out about Dronacharya and the Padma Vyuha and how Abhimanyu is trapped by the Kauravas.
*Yudhishtira takes the blame with a heavy heart and tells Arjuna that Jayadrata is the one stopped the Pandavas from entering the Padmavyuha.
*Arjuna's vow to slay Jayadrata before the sunset on the following day if not, he vows to do Agni pravesa (self immolation)
*Dronacharya's vyuha planned to protect Jayadrata and the commander in chief is trying to stop the unstoppable Arjuna.
*Lord Krishna takes the chariot in flash towards Jayadrata. The Lord uses his Sudarshana chakra to eclipse the sun and create the effect of sunset.Jayadrata and the others relax and Arjuna's uses this opportunity to strike and kill Jayadrata. The Sindhu king's head is carried far away, all the way to the meditating King Vridasatra's (Jayadrata's father)lap. The shocked older king, stands up and the head rolls down in a split second and his head burst into pieces (
*Gatotkacha's antics, he plays with the Kaurava's army. He is causing big damage to the kauravas and Duryodhana is devastated. Requests Karna to kill the demon.
*Karna to keep his friend's word, uses the Indira given sakthi weapon,which was meant to destroy Arjuna .Gatotkacha fallls on the part of kaurava army and crushing it.
*Dronacharya shows all his might and fights mercilessly with the Pandavas.
*Krsna decides that Drona's mind should be diverted. Bhima kills the elephant called Aswathama. He screams that he has killed Aswathama.
*Dronacharya wants to confirm from Yudhistra since he has never lied. Dharmaputra says Aswathama, (the elephant)is dead. His statement was partially camouflaged (the elephant) by the sankha nadham.
*A helpless acharya sets to a meditative state and Dristadyumna grabs this opportunity to chop his head.
*Karna becomes the Commander in chief.
*Bhima on a face-off with Dussasana. He wrestles with him and fulfills his promise by ripping his arms, breaking his chest and drinking the blood.
*Karna and Arjuna face each other in the battle. Karna's arrows with the Lords' grace miss Arjun's head.. The unfortunate Karna's chariot wheel gets stuck in the puddle in the battle grounds. His attempt to clear the wheel goes in vain and Arjuna shoots arrows and kills him.
*Every Adharmi is killed one after the other on their bad deeds (sakuni is killed by Sahadeva: Nakula and Yudhistra kill King Salya)
*Duryodhana the true ksatriya wants to fight until his death even when Krpacharya asks him to end the war. He meditates in the pond and gets immense power and gets ready to face Bhima. Bhima remembers his vow and breaks his thigh and leaves him mortally wounded.It was an unofficial victory of Pandavas after a gruesome 18 days long fight.
*Aswathama on a mission to kill Pandavas- gets to their camp in the night and kills Dristadyumna first and all 5 upa-pandavas (thinking them to be the Pandavas) and tells Duryodhana that Pandavas are killed. Duryodhana after hearing this, breathes last.
*Aswathama runs to Sage Vedavyasa and takes refuge after knowing the Pandavas are alive.
*Krsna takes his syamanthaka (the gem on his forehead) and curses him to wander until the pralaya (deluge- end of the world)
Gita Time- Today we learned verses 26,27 and 28from our Dear Swamiji.

Homework-Please have children complete a page of likhita japa (Om namah shivay, Om sree mathre namaha, Sriramajayam, Sreekrishna saranam mama, Hare Rama Hare Krsna) at home and bring in the likhita japa notebook to the class, thanks.
Requirements for class
*We start at 9.15 with opening prayers and it will not be nice if kids walk in while the chanting is going on. Kindly please be inside the class room on or before 9.15.
*Please send in a notebook and a pen or pencil and kindly remind them to note down important pointers which are written on the smart board as we explain.
*Noting on a solid notebook is optional (kindly no loose papers, please. If yes, please file them accordingly then and there) Please remind kids to make a good choice.
