Hari Om!

Dear parents,

We are delighted that we have a huge number of students for our grade - Friday batch. There were 22 kids present in our first class and today as well. It was a pleasure to meet and talk to the kids.

Opening prayers: Shree Ganeshaya Namaha
                                Shree Saraswatyay Namaha
                                Shree Satgurubhyo Namaha

Rama Shloka:     Neelambuja Shyamala Komalaangam

9/20 Class Update

We again had a full room - 22 kids ; 3 were absent; 2 new students had joined

We spoke about the incarnations of Lord Vishnu. They had a lot of questions and comments. One of them asked why God took various forms and not a super-power form. We said it may be to relate to the other beings at that time comparing it to the evolution. Especially, Rama took the form of a very ordinary person so he could demonstrate to others, the way to live a dharmic life.

We did a game to introduce Ramayana and to know how much the kids know the Ramayana.
Game
We wrote out the important characters, each on the11 yellow chits. And their descriptions were on another set of 11 different chits, yellow in color. The matching chits were numbered 1 through 11. We gave one chit to each kid. And as soon as a kid read out a yellow chit, he /she had to guess who it was. Then the person with the matching number chit in pick read out the answer. They found it interesting and they shared even other facts they knew about the characters.

We spoke about the importance of chanting Gita and its benefits. This year we start from Chapter one and it could be a great beginning for the teachers, parents and, kids to learn together and memorize. We hope all kids participate in the Gita Yagna and competition this year. We watched the presentation of pronunciation to prepare for Gita chanting.

Next Balavihar class: 9/27/2019; We will have the Saraswathi Puja at 7:45 after a short class, where the kids will perform the Puja, following the priest for the Puja chants and steps. Please have them wear traditional India clothes to do the Puja.

Parents, please have the kids bring a note book and a pencil.
