Below is the update from our class grade 6 Sunday AM this week.

We started with regular opening prayers.
Today we learned Mahisasura Mardhni sthothram first two verses.
Mahabharata- our lesson
We are at the war scenario —completed until Abhimanyu vadh (slaying of Abhimanyu) today.
*Karna goes to see Bhisma on the bed of arrows.
*Bhisma calls Karna, Kaunteya.
*Bhisma understands Karna's loyalty to Duryodhana.
*Dronacharya is the next army commander.
*Drona is fierce in the battle field.
*Pandava army in trouble.
*Every attempt to make Arjuna away from the war field.
*Drona plans to capture Yudhistra,'alive' who is in the center of many protection layers, the vyuha of Pandavas.
*Every attempt, Drona tried to go face to face with Yudhistra, Arjuna comes in between to save his older brother.
*The Trigarta brothers challenges Arjuna
*Drupada's son Satyajit tries to save Yudhistra, Drona kills Satyajit.
*Duryodhana faces Bhima, who hides in between Bhagadatta's elephant's inner thigh.
*Arjuna comes from somewhere like a whirlwind , kills Bhagadatta and his elephant.
*At the end of that day, Duryodhana is unhappy and totally disappointed that Yudhistra is not captured.
*Following Dawn, Dronacharya plans for the Chakra vyuha or also called as Padma vyuha.
*The Trigarta Brothers Susarma and his younger brother takes Arjuna to a far away spot for one on one with Arjuna.
*Enter Abhimanyu to offer to break open the Chakra vyuha, who knows only to enter the vyuha. The Pandavas plan to follow Abhimanyu to enter the vyuha.
*Jayatradha king of Sindu, Husband of Dussala the only Kaurava princess gets in faster and closes the chakra vyuha stopping the rest of the Pandava brothers from their entry into the vyuha.
*Abhimanyu the young boy of just 17 years faces the entire Kaurava army, as a single person.
*He faces mighty warriors like Drona, Krpa, Karna, Duryodhana, Dussaasana,Sakuni and Aswathama among other kauravas.
*Abhimanyu is attacked from all directions. He is shot with arrows in the back, his chariot is broken, one by one of his weapons are all shattered. With no weapon with him, he picks up a wheel and tries to defend and attack the opponents. Dussasana's son comes for a wrestle with him and tries to attack him and hits his head with a mace. That makes the greatest young warrior to breathe last.
Gita Time- Today we learned verses 24 and 25 from our Dear Swamiji.
Today we recorded Gita group reading and sent email to house events to gain points for the team.

Homework-Please have children complete a page of likhita japa (Om namah shivay, Om sree mathre namaha, Sriramajayam, Sreekrishna saranam mama, Hare Rama Hare Krsna) at home and bring in the likhita japa notebook to the class, thanks.
Requirements for class
*We start at 9.15 with opening prayers and it will not be nice if kids walk in while the chanting is going on. Kindly please be inside the class room on or before 9.15.
*Please send in a notebook and a pen or pencil and kindly remind them to note down important pointers which are written on the smart board as we explain.
*Noting on a solid notebook is optional (kindly no loose papers, please. If yes, please file them accordingly then and there) Please remind kids to make a good choice.
