Hari Om All,
This week we started our class with Likhita Japa followed by chanting of all Shlokas.
- We discussed the topics for the Play to be enacted by our class during the Annual Day (Jun 13, 2020). We discussed 4 possible options: 1. Top 10 Heroes of Mahabharata; 2. Top 10 Curses of Mahabharata; 3. Modern Mahabharata; 4. Characters from Mahabharata who could have been Heroes (under better circumstances). Based on the class votes, most of the kids picked the 4th topic - Characters from Mahabharata who could have been Heroes. Next, the entire class identified a draft list of characters who could be included in the play. Some of the students also picked the characters that they would like to play. Here's the draft list:
- Ekalavya (Nikhil)
- Karna (Atreyi)
- Shikhandi (Sahaana)
- Shakuni (Riya)
- Duryodhana (Jashwanth)
- Ganga (Reya)
- Satyavati (Siri)
- Ashwathama (Archyut)
- Abhimanyu (Sridhar)
- Kunti (Krishna)
- Uttar Kumar (tbd)
- Gandhari (tbd)
- Dushasana (tbd)
- Dhritarashtra (tbd)
- Ghatotkacha (tbd)
- Pandava Putras (tbd)
- Narrator (tbd)
- We will finalize the above list in the next few classes. We expect most of the rehearsal for the play to take place during the regular Balavihar class time.
- We had a meeting with the class parents after Arathi. Most parents have agreed to encourage their children to participate in the play and also enroll in the Shlokathon to be held on April 4, 2020. We hope a lot of our class can also participate in the Bhagavad Gita chanting competition.
Announcements:
1. Shlokathon registration is now open. Shlokathon will be on April 4, 2020 from 1-4pm. Shlokas have to be memorized. Participation points and prizes for everyone.
