- Kabir Born in 1398 AD (Kabir means Great in Arabic)
- He was adopted by Muslim family – poor weaver couple Niru and Nima.
- He was drawn towards Ramananda's teaching (Hindu Saint)
- Meeting with Ramananda
- One day Kabir was sleeping on foot steps of Ganges
- Ramananda came to take bath in the River Ganges in early morning.
- By Mistake Ramananda stepped onto Kabir, he exclaimed "Rama, Rama!"
- Kabir got up and folded his hands and appealed to the saint, "you chanted Rama Rama, and made me your disciple even though I am poor weaver"
- Ramananda touched by his deep devotion and accepted him as his student.
- Kabir learnt great secrets of Spirituality from Ramananda in a very short time
- Marriage
- Married to Loi and continued his weaving profession
- He was very generous towards poor people and donated articles generously (to the needy)
- He was always immersed in thoughts of God
- He recited couplets in praise of God. These compositions are eye openers and they are very famous even today in India. They are known as "Kabir Ke Dohe"
- He was blunt and did not hesitate to point out negative elements of society. Initially people did not like and they started like these composition as they started understand them.
- Last days of Kabir
- Kabir lived for more than 100 year 9timm 1518 AD)
- He wanted to die in Magahar in Uttar Prades, just to break the blind belief when people die in Magahar, they go to Hell, die in Varanasi, go to haven
- He Believe, if you keep God in your heart, there is non difference between Varanasi and Magahar
- After his death Hindu's and Muslim's fought for his body, one wanted to cremate and other wanted to bury. When they removed the sheet from his body, they did not see the body, rather saw the flower. They both took parts to followed their rituals and prayed their respect
